A leading environmental consultancy in the north east of Scotland is seeking an Ecologist with 2-4 yearsexperience to join their expanding team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone ready to take on more responsibility, contribute to high-profile projects, and develop within a well-established multidisciplinary environment.

Role Overview

You will support and deliver ecological inputs across a varied project portfolio, including:

  • Onshore and offshore renewable energy developments
  • Grid and transmission infrastructure projects
  • Energy transition and decommissioning work
  • Major transport and utilities schemes
  • Habitat and protected species surveys across northern Scotland

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting PEAs, Phase 1 habitat surveys, and protected species surveys
  • Supporting senior staff with impact assessments and mitigation design
  • Preparing high-quality technical reports
  • Working collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Engaging with clients, regulators, and project partners

Requirements

  • 2-4 yearsexperience in ecological consultancy
  • Strong field skills and species identification abilities
  • Experience delivering PEAs and protected species surveys
  • Understanding of UK ecological legislation and planning policy
  • Full UK driving licence

Protected species licences (bat, GCN, badger, otter) are advantageous but not essential.
