A leading UK environmental consultancy is seeking experienced Senior Ecological Consultants to join its growing ecology team. These are permanent positions, with both full-time and part-time working patterns available. The role offers hybrid flexibility, combining homeworking with time in the office as needed.
The Role
You will work with clients across the region and surrounding areas, contributing to a wide range of local and national projects. As a Senior Ecological Consultant, you will be involved in delivering field surveys, ecological assessments, tender input, report writing, and project management.
You will also take responsibility for managing and overseeing medium to large projects from initiation through to completion, ensuring high-quality delivery throughout.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing medium-sized projects, including financial oversight, resource planning, subcontractor coordination, risk management, and quality assurance
- Ensuring effective communication with clients and project teams, and responding to client feedback
- Completing fieldwork, including occasional out-of-hours surveys, travel, and overnight stays where required
- Overseeing site-based activities and supporting practical habitat management or creation work
- Contributing to survey reports, technical documents, licence applications, data analysis, and research outputs
- Representing the consultancy professionally and maintaining strong client relationships
Person Specification
- Degree or vocational qualification in a relevant discipline
- Approximately 5 years of relevant ecological experience
- Full UK driving licence
- Species licences are desirable
- Associate membership of CIEEM (or working towards it)
- Commitment to CIEEM’s Code of Professional Conduct
Salary & Benefits
