🚨Director of Software Engineering (Hands-On) 🚨

We are working with a high global fintech, renowned for delivering world-class payments-related software and technology. They are looking to recruit a hands-on Director of Software Engineering who will be a key hire as part of their expansion.

You will lead and grow a nimble, high-performing engineering team delivering next-generation financial solutions.

This is not a purely strategic or people-only leadership role, they need a technical leader who still writes, reviews, and reasons about code while mentoring and scaling strong teams.

What You’ll Do

🔹 Lead 14–20 engineers as a player-coach

🔹 Stay actively involved in architecture, code reviews, and tech strategy

🔹 Build empowered, full-stack teams focused on lean, high-velocity delivery

🔹 Shape agile practices and drive engineering excellence

🔹 Collaborate with product and exec teams to build high-impact, customer-facing systems

You Bring

✅ 5+ years in software leadership (1+ as a Director or above)

✅ A strong OOP background (Java, C#, or C++)

✅ Experience managing engineers and mentoring new leaders

✅ A passion for lean, pragmatic development, and rolling up your sleeves when needed

✅ Curiosity, humility, and a bias for simplicity and action

Bonus Points

âž• Experience in Lean/Kanban environments

âž• Fintech or platform engineering background
