Trust Accountant

Eden Scott Accountancy & Finance Division are delighted to be supporting a hugely successful and highly respected legal firm in Edinburgh as they look to appoint a Trainee / Trust Accountant to join their growing Private Client team.

This is an exceptional opportunity for someone at the early stages of their accounting career who’s looking to develop within a specialist, in-demand area of finance. Trust Accounting is a niche field with a consistently strong market in Edinburgh, driven by the city’s established legal, wealth management, and private client sectors.

The Role

Working closely with experienced Trust Accountants, you’ll gain hands-on exposure to a wide range of responsibilities, including:

• Preparing trust accounts and financial statements
• Maintaining accurate trust records and ledgers
• Assisting with tax compliance, including trust and estate returns
• Supporting distributions, payments, and client instructions
• Liaising with solicitors, investment managers, and beneficiaries
• Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and deadlines
• Providing support on ad-hoc reporting and analysis
