Eden Scott Accountancy & Finance Division is delighted to be supporting a well-established not-for-profit organisation in their search for a Senior Finance Officer to join their successful finance team based in Alloa. This is a permanent opportunity offering a hybrid working model, with on-site presence required up to once per week.
The Role
Reporting to the Senior Finance Business Partner, youâll play a key role in delivering robust financial control, reporting, and systems oversight. Youâll lead on core finance processes including month-end, year-end, VAT, fixed assets, and payment authorisations, while supporting the Head of Finance across a broad range of services. Youâll also provide line management and guidance to Finance Assistants, act as a systems super-user, and deputise for the Senior Finance Business Partner when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation of monthly management accounts and KPI reporting
- Oversight of financial controls, policies, and compliance (Charity SORP, OSCR, VAT)
- Management of accruals, shared cost allocations, and fixed asset register
- Lead administrator for online banking and payment systems
- Support with budgeting, forecasting, and statutory accounts preparation
- Liaison with external partners including auditors and tax advisors
- Contribution to team planning, risk documentation, and helpdesk support
About You
- A recognised accounting qualification (e.g. HND Accounts, AAT) or strong experience within a similar role
- Proven experience in financial control and reporting within a complex organisation
- Strong systems knowledge and Excel proficiency
- Collaborative, customer-focused, and process improvement mindset
- Experience in the not-for-profit or service delivery sector (desirable)
