Eden Scott Accountancy & Finance Division is delighted to be partnering with a high-growth organisation in North Lanarkshire to recruit an experienced Accounts Assistant for a 12-month fixed-term contract, with strong potential to become permanent. This role is fully onsite and offers a salary of up to £33,000.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to step into a senior Accounts Assistant position within a fast-paced, scaling environment. The role sits at the heart of the finance function, supporting core transactional activity while contributing to wider reporting, budgeting and operational delivery. It’s a hands-on post where accuracy, ownership and collaboration are key.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage weekly labour payments and resolve any related queries.
- Oversee the purchase ledger, coordinate payment runs and maintain strong supplier relationships.
- Support daily accounting activity including data entry, reconciliations and maintaining accurate financial records.
- Handle credit control across Sales and Retentions, including analysis of accrued income.
- Assist with monthly management accounts and contribute to financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies.
- Support budgeting, forecasting and wider planning processes.
- Provide general administrative and operational support to the Finance team.
Skills and Experience
- HNC or HND in Accounting is desirable, although candidates qualified by experience or AAT will also be considered.
- Previous experience in a Finance Assistant or Accounts Assistant role.
- Background in an SME environment is beneficial, with construction experience viewed favourably.
- Strong understanding of core accounting principles and transactional processes.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Confident user of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with Xero is an advantage.
- Strong communicator who can work independently and as part of a team.
- Proactive approach with a focus on continuous improvement.
