Senior Business Analsyt (North Sea & West Africa)

In this long term contract role as Senior Business Analyst, reporting to the Team Lead, you will lead the preparation and review of annual budgets including reconciling inputs with management reporting files, drive the monthly forecasting cycle, and deliver high-quality financial analysis and performance insights for North Sea and West Africa regions. You will draw upon your experience and knowledge to support, coach and mentor colleagues, encouraging an environment of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.

You will work closely with corporate reporting and financial systems teams to ensure efficient and effective preparation of the month end accruals and monthly forecast review processes and contribute to corporate reporting, board papers and partner engagements, ensuring compliance with statutory, audit, and governance requirements.

Strong communication is required as this role requires effective partnering with with cross-functional stakeholders, such as Operations, Commercial, and corporate teams—to validate assumptions, challenge variances, and ensure robust financial planning.

In addition you will be involved in ad-hoc projects and initiatives to support organisational priorities.

To be considered, you will have extensive experience (min 10 years) within a similar role, with good working knowledge of an oil and gas E&P business including typical commercial arrangements and a good understanding of oil and gas corporate reporting concepts. Holding a professional accountancy qualification is preferred but not essential.
