About the Role
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Procurement Specialist to join a manufacturing site based in Dundee. This role supports both site-level and global procurement activity, reporting into a global procurement function.This is not a transactional buying role. The position focuses on supplier relationship management, strategic procurement, risk mitigation, and value creation across direct materials, indirect spend, and services. The role forms part of the Site Leadership Team and plays a key role in supporting operational and strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage strategic relationships with key suppliers of materials and services at site level and globally, negotiating cost-effective and sustainable commercial terms.
- Deliver procurement objectives, ensuring consistency in systems, processes, and governance while supporting production plans.
- Support and lead global procurement initiatives aimed at supplier rationalisation, standardisation, and cost reduction.
- Drive Material Change Controls, CAPAs, deviations, and corrective actions within the assigned portfolio.
- Partner with site leadership to identify, communicate, and deliver continuous improvement opportunities.
- Track market conditions, supplier capabilities, and technology trends to optimise cost and supply continuity.
- Define and maintain inventory parameters in collaboration with Supply Chain leadership.
- Lead supply chain risk identification and mitigation activities.
- Investigate and resolve supplier non-conformances, including root cause analysis and preventative actions.
Qualifications
- Degree qualified or equivalent experience in Supply Chain, Procurement, Logistics, or related discipline.
- CIPS qualification desirable but not essential; training support available.
Experience & Skills Required
- Minimum 3 years’ experience across direct, indirect, and capital procurement.
- Experience within animal health or pharmaceutical manufacturing environments preferred.
- Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
- Experience managing suppliers across a global landscape.
- Knowledge of GMP and FDA-regulated environments.
- Strong commercial and analytical capability.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
