Senior Leadership Role
Eden Scott is working in exclusive partnership with Cornerstone Community Care to appoint their next Head of Finance. As the retained recruitment partner for this appointment, I am leading the search for a high-calibre finance leader to join this values-driven organisation at a pivotal time.
The Opportunity
This is a key senior leadership role, working closely with the Director of Finance and wider executive team to ensure financial sustainability, support strategic growth, and drive operational excellence.
Cornerstone is a well-established and respected Scottish charity, delivering vital support services for people with learning disabilities, autism, and complex care needs. With over 45 years of impact, they are committed to improving lives through a person-centred and innovative approach.
The Role
As Head of Finance, you will:
- Lead and develop the finance function, ensuring accurate, timely, and insightful financial reporting.
- Support organisational decision-making through high-quality analysis and forecasting.
- Oversee budgeting, financial planning, statutory accounts, and audit processes.
- Drive continuous improvement across financial systems, controls, and processes.
- Provide commercial and financial support across operations, including contracts and funding.
- Play a key role in managing financial risk, cash flow, and long-term sustainability.
- Contribute as a member of the Senior Leadership Team to strategic planning and delivery.
About You
We are keen to speak with ambitious and values-led finance leaders who can operate both strategically and operationally.
You will bring:
- A recognised accountancy qualification (CA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent).
- Strong post-qualified experience, ideally within a complex or regulated environment.
- Proven leadership experience managing and developing finance teams.
- Expertise in financial planning, reporting, and governance.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence at senior level.
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset aligned with a collaborative, purpose-led culture.
- Experience in an environment with exposure to local authority or government commercial contract awards.
- Experience in the charity, public, or social care sector would be advantageous but is not essential.
Why Join Cornerstone?
- A mission-driven organisation making a genuine difference across Scotland.
- A senior leadership opportunity with real influence and impact.
- A supportive, collaborative culture built around strong values: caring, person-centred, professional, and pioneering.
- The chance to shape financial strategy during a period of challenge and opportunity.
