Eden Scott is delighted to be working with the National Trust for Scotland, a charity established in 1931, to provide access and enjoyment to the properties, places and collections in its care. They also exist to protect what they look after for future generations to enjoy; and increasingly they are keen to act as a strong conservation voice for heritage and climate change response across Scotland.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team at the Trust as Fundraising Manager -Operations & Support. This is a rare opportunity to join one of Scotland’s most successful and ambitious fundraising teams and will play a pivotal role in their next phase of growth.

This role would suit you if you are a strategic thinker who thrives on turning data, systems and insight into real-world impact and want your work to help protect Scotland’s most treasured places and collections for generations to come.

At the National Trust for Scotland, fundraising is not just a support function; it is central to everything they achieve. Over recent years, they have invested in their people, systems and ambition, building a high-performing team that consistently exceeds expectations and generates in excess of £10 million annually.

This is a role for someone who wants to make a lasting difference. You’ll sit at the heart of their fundraising team and activity, shaping the systems, processes and insight that enable their teams to succeed. From strengthening data and CRM capability to driving performance, planning and reporting, your work will directly unlock their ability to grow income and deepen supporter relationships.

But this role goes beyond operations. You’ll influence strategy, lead innovation in how they use data and digital tools, and ensure their fundraising is efficient, compliant and built on best practice.

You’ll oversee key areas including prospect research, pipelines and events - ensuring they have a strong and sustainable flow of opportunities that translate into meaningful support for Scotland’s heritage.

You’ll be a leader and connector, working across teams, building capability, and championing fundraising excellence throughout their charity. Whether advising colleagues at their extraordinary properties or working with senior leaders on financial planning and performance, you’ll bring clarity and rigour to everything you do.

Key skills and experience required:

  • Significant experience of leading fundraising operations or support services, including data management, administration, reporting, compliance and financial processes within a busy, multi-disciplinary team.
  • Proven experience of improving systems, processes and reporting to enhance operational performance and support income growth.
  • Strong experience of working across income generation disciplines, ensuring effectiveprioritisation and delivery of support services, including special events and prospect research.
  • Experience of financial planning and management, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting and working closely with Finance colleagues.
  • Sound experience of working with Microsoft Dynamics, or with a similar supporter relationship database, with a strong understanding of how to champion user needs and business priorities in partnership with digital and IT teams.
  • Experience of using data, insight and performance metrics to inform decision-making and support strategic planning.
  • Experience ensuring compliance with relevant regulation and best practice, including data governance and financial controls.
  • A collaborative leader with experience operating at a senior level, contributing to strategy development and supporting organisational decision making.
  • Experience of representing and advocating for fundraising, working with and influencing teams from across the organisation to embed best practice and enable income generation

We are seeking a candidate who is driven by impact, excited by complexity, and energised by collaboration. In return, you’ll join a passionate, supportive and high-achieving team - and have the opportunity to shape a function that truly matters.

This role offers an excellent competitive salary within a range of £49,798 - £57,272 with significant company benefits.

Location: home based in Scotland.
