An established financial planning team is looking to appoint an experienced Financial Planner to support its continued development. The role offers responsibility for a broad and well-balanced portfolio of high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients, with an emphasis on long-term partnership, considered advice, and consistent delivery of strong client outcomes. The firm is known for its commitment to depth of advice rather than volume, holding high standards across service quality, technical insight, and professional conduct.
The successful candidate will integrate into an existing planning team and assume ownership of a defined client group. The focus will be on understanding complex financial circumstances, providing tailored advice, and ensuring clients receive a highly personal and proactive service.
This position suits a planner who thrives on problem-solving, can translate complex financial strategies into clear and meaningful plans, and takes pride in delivering advice that supports clients’ long-term objectives. Attention to regulatory standards and a strong service ethos are essential.
The role also allows scope to contribute beyond client work, including sharing technical expertise, supporting the development of less experienced colleagues, and participating in broader business initiatives.
Key duties:
- Take ongoing responsibility for a portfolio of HNW and UHNW clients
- Design and deliver suitable financial planning advice across a range of needs
- Conduct regular client reviews in line with agreed service commitments
- Maintain accurate and compliant client documentation and records
- Anticipate client requirements and provide well-considered solutions
- Act as a strong ambassador for the firm’s planning philosophy and approach
- Build confidence and trust through clear communication and professionalism
This role offers a supportive environment with genuine opportunities for progression, including:
- An inherited client base covering a range of financial planning scenarios
- The opportunity to coach and support more junior colleagues
- Involvement in profile-building initiatives such as marketing and thought leadership
- Ongoing exposure to complex cases and collaborative working within the team
The position supports flexible working, with the ability to work from home alongside travel for client meetings, team collaboration, or office time as required. This approach encourages both autonomy and connection.
The ideal candidate is likely to demonstrate:
- Diploma in Financial Planning as a minimum, with progress toward or attainment of Advanced Diploma advantageous
- Strong technical capability across investments, retirement, protection, and estate planning
- Experience advising clients using a wide range of product providers and solutions
- A relationship-focused mindset, supported by at least two years in a client-facing advisory role
- A professional, thoughtful approach with confidence in client communication
This opportunity will appeal to a Financial Planner seeking to work within a firm that values thoughtful advice, technical integrity, and sustained client relationships, while also investing in the development of its people. Please get in touch for a confidential discussion about the opportunity and your career goals prior to progressing further with Alison Curran.
