Role Purpose
The Finance Business Partner provides high-quality financial insight, analysis, and decision support to operational leadership. Working closely with non-finance stakeholders, the role supports effective financial management, performance monitoring, and commercial decision-making within a fast-paced business environment.
Key Responsibilities
Business Partnering
- Act as a trusted advisor to operational and management teams
- Build effective working relationships across the business
- Translate complex financial information into clear, actionable insight
- Support strategic initiatives and key business decisions
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare and deliver regular management reports in line with internal timetables
- Analyse financial performance, identifying variances, trends, risks, and opportunities
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators
- Provide clear commentary and recommendations to management
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Support the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts
- Monitor performance against budget and forecast
- Provide variance analysis and support corrective actions
- Assist managers in understanding cost drivers and financial performance
Accounting & Financial Control
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions
- Prepare and review general ledger journals
- Apply appropriate accounting treatment in line with policies and standards
- Monitor commitments and support robust financial control
Cash & Working Capital
- Support invoicing, credit control, and debtor management
- Assist with customer credit risk assessment
- Monitor supplier payments in line with agreed terms and controls
- Identify opportunities to improve cash flow and cost efficiency
Governance & Compliance
- Ensure financial processes are completed in line with internal deadlines
- Maintain compliance with internal policies, procedures, and controls
- Support internal and external audit activity
Additional Duties
- Deliver ad-hoc financial analysis as required
- Support non-financial reporting where applicable
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications & Experience
- Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent)
- Post-qualification experience in management accounting, financial analysis, or business partnering
- Experience working in a commercial or operational environment

- Strong communication skills; able to engage non-finance stakeholders
- Commercially minded with strong analytical ability
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong Excel and general IT skills
- Ability to prioritise and work to deadlines
- Proactive, organised, and collaborative approach
