Finance Analyst

Eden Scott Accountancy & Finance Division are delighted to be supporting a leading organisation in Edinburgh as they seek an experienced Finance Analyst on a full-time, permanent and hybrid basis. This role is open to candidates who are PQ, Qualified or QBE.

Due to internal promotion, the role of Finance Analyst will sit within a successful and busy Edinburgh team where the successful candidate will deliver insightful financial analysis to support strategic decision-making across the firm. This role involves interpreting complex data, producing clear recommendations, and collaborating with both Finance and wider business teams. Key areas of contribution include reporting, budgeting, forecasting, pricing, financial modelling, and regulatory compliance (e.g. VAT). The Analyst also supports partner-related financial matters and ensures data integrity across core metrics.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare month-end and quarterly management reports, plus ad hoc analysis for partners, fee earners, and the Finance team
• Develop and maintain financial models, schedules, and reports using internal systems
• Analyse performance across divisions, partner groups, locations, teams, clients, and sectors
• Assist with monthly payroll and statutory reporting (corporate/partnership tax, VAT)
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data (rates, utilisation, budgets, headcount)
• Lead and deliver finance-related projects and reporting requests throughout the year

Required Experience & Skills

• Prior experience in a finance role
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong interpersonal and team collaboration skills
• Professional discretion with confidential information
• Clear communication of financial insights to non-finance stakeholders
• Motivated to learn, grow, and progress within the role
