Environmental Clerk of Works
Location: Inverness (Hybrid)
Salary: £35,000 £40,000

We are looking for an Environmental Clerk of Works to support construction projects across the Highlands and Islands. You will monitor site activities to ensure compliance with environmental legislation, planning conditions, and protection measures.

The role involves working on renewable energy and infrastructure projects, including overhead lines and substations. Youll split your time between site visits, home working, and office-based tasks, with flexibility built in.

Youll join a small, collaborative consultancy based in Inverness, with a strong focus on renewable energy. The team offers a supportive environment where individuals can contribute to project direction and business growth. A standout benefit includes fully funded international study trips.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct site inspections and monitor environmental compliance
  • Ensure adherence to environmental plans and planning conditions
  • Advise on protected species and habitat protection
  • Oversee mitigation measures and pollution controls
  • Produce site reports and maintain accurate records
  • Liaise with contractors, clients, and regulators

Requirements:

  • Relevant environmental degree
  • Experience in a site-based or construction environment
  • Good knowledge of environmental legislation
  • Strong communication and ability to work independently

Desirable:

  • Renewable energy or infrastructure experience
  • CSCS card
  • Protected species or water monitoring knowledge
  • 4x4 driving experience
