Accounts Payable Team Lead
Location: Aberdeen (Hybrid)
Type: Full-time 12 months contract
Are you an experienced Accounts Payable professional ready to lead a high-performing team? This is a fantastic opportunity to join a complex, international organisation operating across the UK and Europe.
The Role
As Accounts Payable Team Lead, you’ll manage and develop the AP team while driving process improvements and ensuring strong financial controls. You’ll align AP activity across multiple geographies, collaborate with Procurement, Treasury, Tax and Finance Operations, and play a key role in strengthening the end-to-end purchase-to-pay process.
What You’ll Do
- Lead, coach and support the AP team
- Oversee accurate ledger management, reconciliations and reporting
- Maintain clear control of aged creditors and prevent period-end surprises
- Resolve internal and external stakeholder issues quickly
- Improve KPIs and enhance AP processes and controls
- Support PO and S2P process development with Procurement
- Ensure compliance with VAT, supplier onboarding and regulatory requirements
- Act as a key contact for audits
- Provide analytical and ad hoc support to Finance

- Strong AP leadership experience in a complex, international organisation
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills
- High attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
- Strong organisational skills with ability to prioritise deadlines
- Experience driving process improvement and change
- ERP and AP automation experience advantageous
