A prestigious, Chartered, and independent wealth management firm based in the heart of London is seeking a confident and experienced Head of Paraplanning to lead its technically strong and collaborative team.
This is a high-impact, visible role offering true influence over the firm's advice process, investment strategy, and ongoing development.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of at least three experienced paraplanners
- Liaise closely with the administration team and outsourced paraplanners
- Sit on the Investment Committee and shape the central investment proposition
- Conduct and oversee complex research, calculations, and cashflow forecasting
- Manage resource planning, task allocation, and internal workflow
- Attend operational and quarterly management meetings, contributing insights and feedback
- Mentor junior team members and support development plans, appraisals, and training
- Help communicate technical developments and regulatory updates to internal stakeholders
- Identify and implement process improvements, software upgrades, and efficiency gains
- Represent paraplanning within the wider firm and ensure consistent quality in advice delivery
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Minimum 4 years’ paraplanning experience within an IFA/wealth management environment
- Proven team management or leadership experience
- Chartered or near-Chartered (ideally via the CII)
- Technically proficient with tools such as FE Analytics, Voyant, Xplan, and CashCalc
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Able to balance strategic thinking with attention to technical detail
- Experienced in whole-of-market advice, including pensions, investments, tax, and estate planning
- Passionate about mentoring and continuous improvement
Package & Benefits
- £70,000–£80,000 base salary (depending on experience and qualifications)
- Discretionary annual bonus
- 23 days’ holiday (increases with service)
