Job Description:

 

The Design Engineer will play a pivotal role in designing bespoke structural steel products for the building and construction industries. You will engage in a variety of responsibilities, from liaising with clients and stakeholders to troubleshooting on-site challenges.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Design bespoke structural steel products using AutoCAD.
  • Innovate and enhance systems and processes to improve efficiency.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and builders to identify site requirements.
  • Produce production information and manage multiple design projects.
  • Drive new product development, from concept to launch, ensuring adherence to regulations.

 

This role demands a blend of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to ensure project success.

 

 

Skills & Experience:

 

Essential:

 

  • Degree in engineering, design, or the built environment (or equivalent).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or other 2D design tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and data-driven mindset.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and ability to solve complex challenges.
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Excel and Word.

 

Desirable:

 

  • Experience in Tekla software products.
  • Familiarity with creating cutting profiles.
  • 2+ years in design or manufacturing environments.
