A $6B international manufacturer contacted Opus Lex Partners based on a referral from a prior in-house placement as they were looking to hire their first-ever general counsel for their North American operations. The Opus Lex team met with the client in mid-July, presented five viable candidates within three weeks, advised the client on market conditions and presented salary and bonus recommendations, and the new general counsel began work in early October. Now Opus Lex Partners has been asked to continue to assist this organization with building out their North American legal team.

With the awareness that the firm's associates would be too expensive and too few in numbers to manage the volume, the firm requested a team of eight experienced litigators to come on as contract attorneys. Many of those attorneys converted to permanent employees, with some being employed by Opus Lex Partners and assigned to this client for as long as five years. The law firm was able to control costs for their client, and free up valuable associate time internally.
