An excellent opportunity has arisen for a skilled Electro-Mechanical Design Engineer to join a dynamic and innovative engineering team supporting world-class motorsport and high-performance vehicle programmes. This role is ideally suited to an engineer with a strong background in mechanical and electrical integration, with specialist experience in the design and development of tooling, jigs, and fixtures.
Working in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment, you’ll play a key role in supporting manufacturing and assembly processes through intelligent, practical design solutions that enhance precision, repeatability, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
-
Design and develop electro-mechanical tooling, jigs, and fixtures for composite and metallic component manufacturing, assembly, and inspection.
-
Deliver robust and efficient design solutions for production and prototype environments, considering ergonomics, functionality, and process flow.
-
Generate 3D models, 2D manufacturing drawings, and BOMs using industry-standard CAD software (Siemens NX or CATIA V5/3DX).
-
Collaborate closely with manufacturing, quality, and engineering departments to ensure designs meet all operational, safety, and performance requirements.
-
Support development and integration of electrical and sensor-based systems within tooling to enable intelligent monitoring, alignment, and process control.
Required Skills & Experience
-
Proven experience in a design engineering role with a focus on tooling, jigging, or fixture design, ideally within motorsport, aerospace, automotive, or other high-precision engineering environments.
-
Strong knowledge of electro-mechanical systems, including basic electrical integration (e.g. sensors, actuators, wiring routing) within mechanical designs.
-
High proficiency in CAD software (Siemens NX or CATIA V5/3DX) for part, assembly, and drawing creation.
-
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and solve problems in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
-
Knowledge of automation, metrology, or robotic integration in fixture design would be advantageous.
