Hourly Rate: £15.85 per hour 

Shifts: Day shift

Job Description

As a Plasma Operator, you will oversee the safe and efficient operation of plasma cutting machinery. Your role will involve ensuring quality profiles are delivered on time while maintaining minimal waste. You will collaborate with team members to achieve manufacturing targets and uphold high health and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate plasma cutting machines to produce high-quality profiles.
• Adhere to project deadlines and deliver outputs with minimal waste.
• Support both internal and external customer requirements.
• Implement and sustain 5S standards to achieve operational excellence.
• Monitor efficiency levels and strive for a 95% target.
• Train and support new starters and trainees.
• Perform tasks in compliance with health and safety guidelines.

Skills & Experience

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

• Modern Apprenticeship or equivalent in an engineering-related discipline.
• At least four years of experience setting and operating plasma machines.
• Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings.
• Skilled in using both metric and imperial measuring equipment.
• Familiarity with standard operating procedures and product traceability.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience with water jet machines.
• Knowledge of programming using Alpha Cam from DXF files.
• Forklift truck operation skills.
