General Practice Manager
Boutique Accountancy Practice - North London
£60,000 - £70,000 | Full-Time | Start January or ASAP
I am working exclusively with a long-established boutique accountancy practice in North London that is seeking an experienced General Practice Manager to step into a key role within their close-knit team. This is a hands-on, broad-ranging position ideal for someone who enjoys genuine variety and being at the centre of a small, well-run firm.
With the current General Practice Manager due to leave early next year, the firm is looking to appoint a capable all-rounder who can take ownership of both technical delivery and practice operations. The ideal candidate will have a wealth of UK experience working with a broad range of OMB and SME, cross-sector clients.
The General Practice Manager Opportunity
This is a fantastic role for a true general practitioner with solid, rounded experience across accounts and tax. You'll be joining a respected firm with long-standing client relationships and a supportive, personable working environment. The role offers real autonomy and the chance to make a noticeable impact from day one.
The General Practice Manager Key Responsibilities
- Preparing year-end accounts for clients typically up to £2.5m-£3m turnover
- Preparing corporate tax, personal tax, and quarterly VAT returns
- Compliance with FRS102, and FRS102 1A,
- Overseeing day-to-day practice administration and ensuring smooth workflow
- Maintaining AML compliance and internal quality standards
- Managing client communication and supporting long-term relationships
- Utilising QuickBooks, Xero and Digit for accounts and tax work
Minimal bookkeeping. No management accounts required.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for someone who:
- Has strong general practice experience (qualification useful but not essential)
- Enjoys a hands-on role covering both technical work and practice management
- Is confident working independently and taking ownership
- Is comfortable in a small, close-knit team environment
- Communicates clearly and professionally with clients
- Is organised, dependable, and able to keep the practice running efficiently
Role Details
- Full-time, 5 days per week preferred, but will consider part-time

- Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 depending on experience
