Our client – a privately held conglomerate is seeking an experienced and proactive Vendor Master Data Management (MDM) Lead to join their Procurement Operations team. Reporting directly to the Procurement Operations Manager, this role will play a critical part in driving data quality, standardization, and compliance across our ERP and Source-to-Pay systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and implement best practices for vendor data naming conventions and formats.
  • Analyze and validate vendor data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to integrate VMDM with ERP systems and Source-to-Pay platforms.
  • Conduct regular audits of vendor records to identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Lead automation and optimization of VMDM workflows.
  • Oversee end-to-end vendor onboarding, including qualification, compliance checks, and risk analysis.
  • Maintain vendor records and onboarding processes within systems like Coupa and D-365.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for vendor data governance and vendor onboarding tools.
  • Provide training and support to internal teams on VMDM and vendor risk management.
  • Track and report on vendor data quality, onboarding status, and emerging risks.
  • Partner with Vendor Risk & Compliance to ensure proactive risk identification and mitigation.

Requirements:

  • 7–10 years of experience in Vendor Master Data Management and vendor qualification.
  • Proven experience managing vendor data in ERP systems and Source-to-Pay platforms — Coupa experience – ideal.
  • Familiarity with MDM tools such as SAP MDG, Microsoft MDS, or Microsoft D-365.
  • Strong understanding of vendor qualification and risk systems (e.g., D&B, Rapid Ratings, Interos).
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Analytical mindset and proficiency in MS Office tools.
  • Leadership experience and a track record of delivering results through team coordination.
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, or logistics required, advanced degree a plus.
  • Certifications such as ISM or equivalent are a bonus.
