We’re seeking a highly skilled Assistant Controller to support the Global Controller in managing and scaling the core accounting function of a dynamic, publicly traded organization. This is a key leadership role with visibility across global operations and a strong emphasis on technical precision, team leadership, and continuous improvement.

 

Ideal Experience:

You’ve built a strong foundation in public accounting (Big 4 or Top 10 preferred) and have successfully transitioned into the controllership function within a publicly traded company. You lead with confidence, navigate complex accounting environments with ease, and have experience managing a team of all levels of accounting professionals in high-growth settings.

 

In This Role, You Will:

  • Lead the global monthly close and ensure accuracy in financial reporting
  • Supervise general ledger, AR/AP, fixed assets, payroll, and T&E processes
  • Strengthen internal controls and support SOX readiness and compliance
  • Oversee technical accounting research and support position papers
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and external auditors
  • Drive process improvements and system automation initiatives
  • Cultivate a high-performing team and a culture of accountability

Key Qualifications:

  • CPA required; Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 8–10 years of progressive experience in accounting and controllership
  • Deep expertise in US GAAP; working knowledge of IFRS a plus
  • Direct experience with SOX compliance, internal controls, and external audits
  • Ownership of month-end close, consolidations, and SEC reporting (10-Q/10-K)
  • Familiarity with technical accounting topics (e.g., ASC 842)
  • Experience working with ERP systems (Oracle Fusion preferred)
  • Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop accounting teams
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with FP&A, Tax, Treasury, etc.
  • MUST be ok with being at office location 5 days/week
