We’re seeking an Assistant Controller to join a high-growth Real Estate Development team, where your financial expertise will directly impact landmark projects and the communities they serve. This is an excellent step up for a leadership professional with Yardi experience and prior management background, looking for a true “shoe-in” opportunity with a robust, multi-dimensional real estate holding group. In this highly visible role, you’ll work closely with senior leadership, influencing decisions and driving the financial health of the organization!

What We’re Looking For:

• 6+ years of accounting experience, including at least 3 years in real estate development or construction accounting
• Strong project accounting background—experience managing construction budgets, loan draws, and cost tracking
• Yardiproficiency is required
• CPA preferred
• Experience supervising or mentoring at least one project accountant or team member
• Solid understanding of GAAP, construction loans, joint venture structures, and tax credit programs

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee core accounting operations: general ledger, AP/AR, reconciliations, and cash management
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reporting packages
• Track project budgets and provide variance analysis and cost reporting
• Manage construction loan draws and monitor project cash flow
• Liaise with project managers, lenders, investors, and property management teams
• Lead audits and coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors
• Ensure compliance with affordable housing programs, LIHTC, loan covenants, and tax reporting requirements
• Supervise and develop accounting staff
• Implement process improvements and enhance internal controls and reporting accuracy
