  • Oversee negotiations with landowners for voluntary agreements and manage statutory processes, including necessary wayleaves and compulsory purchase orders.
  • Coordinate land referencing, data integrity, and multidisciplinary inputs required for statutory applications and supporting documentation.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders, including landowners, tenants, agents, developers, local authorities, and government bodies.
  • Provide expert advice on land rights, access, valuation, and compensation matters.

Qualifications

  • Solid understanding of relevant legislation, such as the Electricity Act 1989, Land Compensation Act 1973, and Compulsory Purchase Act 1965.
  • Awareness of energy network structures, governance, and operational contexts.
  • Professional membership (or working towards membership) of RICS Rural Professional Group, CAAV, or an equivalent body.

Day-to-Day

  • Collaborate with project teams to identify and secure land rights required for infrastructure projects.
  • Engage with landowners and stakeholders to negotiate agreements and resolve disputes.
  • Manage statutory processes, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide strategic advice to internal teams on land-related risks and opportunities.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate records of land rights and associated documentation.
  • Represent the organisation in meetings with external stakeholders, including local authorities and government bodies.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary ranging from £60,000 to £70,000.
  • Car or cash allowance.
  • Performance-related bonus.
  • Comprehensive benefits package, including pension contributions and additional perks.
  • Hybrid working model, offering flexibility to balance office and remote work.
  • Opportunity to contribute to nationally significant energy infrastructure projects.
