Due to continued business growth and an expanding client portfolio, a leading pensions firm are hiring for an experienced pensions professional with experience in defined benefit pensions to join its growing operations team in either Edinburgh or Glasgow. 

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced pensions administrator who enjoys combining technical pensions knowledge with project-based work. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting a range of pension scheme projects, helping to improve administration processes, resolve complex data issues, and deliver high-quality outcomes for clients and scheme members. 

Working as part of a specialist team, the successful individual will contribute to a variety of pensions-related initiatives, including operational improvement projects, scheme data reviews, member record remediation exercises, and client administration developments. The role offers exposure to a broad range of pension arrangements and the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals across multiple disciplines. 

This position would suit someone who is naturally analytical, enjoys solving problems, and is confident managing workstreams while maintaining excellent service standards. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of pensions administration and operational improvement projects.
  • Analyse pension scheme data and identify opportunities to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Assist with complex member and scheme cases requiring technical expertise.
  • Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to deliver agreed project objectives.
  • Contribute to the planning, monitoring and successful completion of project activities.
  • Prepare reports, summaries and recommendations for clients and colleagues.
  • Help develop and improve internal processes, controls and service standards.
  • Support wider client initiatives and business development opportunities where appropriate.
  • Ensure work is completed accurately, efficiently and in line with agreed deadlines. 

About You

Applications are welcomed from pensions professionals who can demonstrate:

  • Experience within UK pensions administration.
  • Good knowledge of Defined Benefit (DB) and Defined Contribution (DC) pension schemes.
  • Experience working with pension scheme data, calculations or rectification activities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical information clearly to different audiences.
  • Experience working collaboratively within project or operational environments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and pension administration systems. 

Professional pensions qualifications are desirable, although candidates with strong practical experience and a genuine interest in developing their expertise will also be considered.
