Junior NLP Engineer – Named Entity Recognition (NER) & Ontology Design - Internship

Overview

About the internship:

Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:

1. Train and fine-tune NER models using frameworks like SpaCy, HuggingFace, or similar
2. Preprocess text data and support annotation efforts using tools like Label Studio or Prodigy
3. Evaluating model performance and improving precision/recall
4. Adapting pre-trained models to domain-specific data
5. Develop and maintain domain ontologies using tools like Prot g
6. Refine ontology structure and concept hierarchy
7. Document experiments and share insights with the engineering team- this is a profile for which role

Stipend:

INR₹ 15,000 - 20,000 /month

Python, Machine Learning, Transformers, Artificial Intelligence Markup Language (AIML), Design System, Data Annotation and Python Libraries

Other Requirements:

1. Prior work with transformers (like BERT or RoBERTa)

2. Exposure to domain adaptation (e.g., financial, legal, or medical texts)

3. GitHub projects or notebooks showcasing NER or ontology work

4. Experience using Protégé for building, visualizing, or maintaining ontologies
