Role Description

This is a full-time remote role for a Azure Data Engineer. The Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines and architectures. The role involves performing Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes, data modeling, and data warehousing. The Data Engineer will also work on data analytics to support business decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize data pipelines on Azure Data Factory (ADF).
• Develop and maintain data lake and data warehouse solutions using Azure Data Lake (ADLS), Azure Synapse Analytics, and Databricks.
• Ingest, transform, and process structured/unstructured data from multiple sources.
• Implement real-time data streaming solutions using Azure Event Hubs, IoT Hub, or Kafka.
• Ensure data quality, governance, and security in line with Azure best practices.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and BI teams to provide curated datasets.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data workflows for performance and cost efficiency.
• Apply CI/CD practices to data engineering projects using Azure DevOps.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 3-5 years of experience as a Data Engineer, with at least 2 years working on Azure.
• Proficiency in Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure SQL Database, and ADLS.
• Hands-on experience with Databricks (PySpark, SparkSQL) for big data processing.
• Strong programming skills in Python, SQL, or Scala.
• Experience with data modeling, warehousing concepts, and schema design.
• Knowledge of Azure Functions, Logic Apps, and Event Hubs.
• Familiarity with Git, Azure DevOps pipelines, and CI/CD practices.
